Entertainment –

The Theater - It is a very large and comfortable theater. Like most of the larger ships, the sound system and lighting were first class. The seats had plenty of leg room. The only minor negative is that there are several seats in the back part of the theater that have obstructed views due to the support beams.

Fortunes Casino - The casino itself appeared, to me, to be well equipped for most gamblers. Since we don’t use the casino, I really appreciate that we didn’t have to walk through it to get from one end of deck 4 to the other. The design of this class of ship has a walkway between the casino on the port side and shops on the starboard side. This means that only people that want to use the casino need to go into it. It was very popular during this cruise, especially since the cooler weather kept people from using the pool area.

The Boulevard –

This is the open area on deck 4 near the front of the ship before you go into the theater. This area has been significantly upgraded from the previous Entertainment Court, which was mainly used for putting out tables to sell merchandise. It is now a real entertainment area with the Parlor, Boulevard Lounge and Boulevard Bar surrounding it. This is the best part of the refurbishment to me. The whole Boulevard area was just a great addition to an underutilized area of the ship. I hope it gets done to the other Solstice class ships.

Boulevard Lounge – This small theater on the starboard side of the Boulevard was previously Celebrtity Central. it was very difficult to even find the entrance. You had to go through a curved dark corridor to get into it. It is now very open, which is a good thing, since it was wildly popular at night for the dueling piano shows. People were lined up at the entrances watching the show because there were no available seats. It also has many activities happening during the day.

This is the setup for the two dueling piano shows each evening.

The Parlor – All I can say is Wow! What a great change Celebrity made to the old rarely used Quasar Club on the port side of the Boulevard. This is a great meeting place where they have billiards, board games, skee ball and other fun activities. You can also order food and drinks from the Parlor Bar.

There were so many boxed games on the walls around the room to use.

Boulevard Bar – This is the bar at the entrance to the Boulevard. It is very popular with the Theater, Boulevard Lounge and Parlor close by.

Outer Decks –

Sunset Park – This is another great modification that was made during the refurbishment. This was once called the Lawn Club with natural grass covering the surface. It was a unique nice feature, but it took a lot of maintenance and much of the grass was off limits to give it time to recover from people walking on it. The new area is much nicer with lots more seating.

There are cabanas that can be reserved for a charge. But they are larger and look much nicer to me than there were on the Lawn Club.

The side areas leading back to the Sunset Bar have lots of comfortable seating and loungers.

Sunset Park Café – This new dining venue is located on deck 15 aft at the front of the new Sunset Park area. We had an outstanding sandwich there the day we boarded the ship. We should have gone back but never did due to the cooler weather. They have a very limited menu, but everything they had was quite good or looked like it would be. They were open in the morning with breakfast sandwiches and in the afternoon with a warm cookie hour. It was a popular place.

Retreat Sundeck – This is the private area for suite guests at the front of the ship on deck 16. It used to be the Solstice Deck used for sunbathing with lots of loungers. It is a very nice area for those wanting to be in the sun or to just lay around on the loungers during the day. We thoroughly enjoyed it one day.

They have a small bar where they make drinks. Food orders from a limited menu can also be placed there or ordered from a waiter.

With the Retreat Sundeck being on deck 16, and the main elevator only going up to deck 15, you need to climb stairs. Fortunately, a small accessible outdoor elevator was added on the starboard side of deck 15 for those that need it.

Pools – The two main pools were used the last few days when the cooler temperatures we had experienced increased to warm. The area is nicely designed and during this cruise, there always seemed to be deck chairs available. The padded chairs and large beach towels that were available made it a most enjoyable place to chill out. The two hot tubs were also quite popular.

The covered areas are always popular for those wanting to stay out of the sun, or on this cruise away from the cool breezes on some days.

The pool area always looks pretty when illuminated at night.

Wet Zone – This is normally a fun area for kids. It is an interactive open-air splash area. In warmer weather, the 144 jets spray water randomly into the air.

Jogging Track – This is an area designated by a colored path on the sunning area of deck 14. The track is an eighth of a mile long.

Solarium - The Solarium is a lovely and very comfortable area for relaxing, swimming and just hanging out in a hot tub. Since we live in South Florida, laying around a swimming pool isn’t that special for us when cruising. With the pool being covered, it is very popular during bad or cold weather. It was during this cruise. It has a lot of comfortable lounge chairs. It is also adults only.

Spa Area - The spa area is always a beautifully decorated area. It is designed for comfort and relaxation. It is located at the front of the ship on decks 11 & 12. A staircase goes down to the treatment rooms on deck 11.

Persian Garden – This is a relaxation area located in the spa. There is a cost to use it if you are not staying in an Aqua Class cabin or suite.

Aromatic Suite – . The Aromatic Suite is a key feature of the Persion Gardens. It is a soothing, eucalyptus-infused steam room designed to open pores, clear sinuses, and relax muscles

Salon – There is a nicely equipped salon in the spa.

Fitness Center – The ship has a very large well-equipped gym. On longer cruises, I normally like to go there to keep up my normal workout activities. However, on this cruise, I only used the facility to pass through to the outside viewing area.

Spa Veranda - Just in front of the gym is a large deck area that is great for viewing from the front of the ship. Most people don't even realize that it is there. It is a great place for taking photos in front of the ship without a glass obstruction .

Other -

Grand Foyer - This area in the center of the ship on deck 3 was used for many activities. It is an attractive area, since the large atrium extends up to the top of the ship. This allows people to look down on the various activities taking place on deck 3. This is needed, since the main activities take place between the grand staircase and the back of the elevators. This arrangement doesn’t allow for a lot of people to sit or stand around to see what is going on.

Guest Relations – This customer service desk is located on one end of the Grand Foyer area. The few times I needed their assistance; they were friendly and helpful.

Shore Excursions – This area for learning about and booking shore excursions is at the other end of the Grand Foyer.

Photo Gallery/ iLounge – Located on the port side of deck 4 mid-ship is the combined photo gallery and iLounge. Quite different from when there was a large iLounge they could use for classes. The photo gallery is all done on the the computer screens where you can look at the photos that were taken of you. It is a more efficient way of handling the photos rather than displaying printed copies down the hall in racks, as done previously. It is one way of cutting costs by combining both functions, but I am sure some people miss the separate iLounge.

Shops on Boulevard –There are many shops on deck 4. Too many to put photos of each one. They are right across from the casino. This area always has some interesting statues along it in the various Solstice class ships.

Galleria Boutiques – There are various shops on deck 5. Here is a view looking down the hallway.

Art Gallery – The art gallery is on deck 5 port side in front of the theater balcony. They have aucitons during the week.

Concierge/Captains Club – This is a very small area with just two desks located in front of the World Class Bar on the port side. It is difficult to find, but just walk past the Breitling shop.

Future Cruise Vacations – This is a popular area on the port side of deck 5 mid-ship, where guests can book future cruises. They offer special promotions to book another cruise while you are on a cruise.

Ping Pong Table - On the starboard side of deck 12 near the pools is a ping pong table. It was popular during this cruise because there weren't a lot of outside water activiites available due to the cooler weather.

Card Room – This area for playing any kind of board games is located on deck 11 just in front of the mid-ship elevator atrium. With there not being a lot of outside activities, this room was very crowded during the day.

Library – The library is located on decks 10 and 11 also in front of the mid-ship elevator atrium. Since there did not appear to be a way to get up to the books on deck 11, it was merely a room with a high ceiling. In the below photos, you can see the library and card room in the atrium along with the living tree.
